寒い日が続きますがいかがお過ごしでしょうか。
毎年恒例の新年会を2月7日に行います。年の初めに親睦を深めて交流を広げる良い機会ですから、どうぞ奮って御参加下さい。役員一同も皆様にお会いできるのを楽しみにしております。
日時；2008年2月7日（土）午後2時〜5時
場所；Eagle Heights Community Center （リンク先の地図2の611と示されている建物です）
（無料の駐車場もございます。）

キャンパスから会場までの無料バス80番の時刻表：

バスはLake Mendota Driveを南からEagle Heights Driveに入り、地図2の黒い線に従って時計回りに回ってLake Mendota Driveに戻っていきます。バス停は赤いひし形で記されています。コミュニティーセンターに一番近いバス停はバスがEagle Heights
Driveに入ったあと半周して湖沿いに来てから最初のバス停です。そこで降りたあと南に歩いて住居棟をいくつか過ぎるとコミュニティーセンターの建物が見えます。
この新年会はポットラック形式で行いますので、みなさんで分け合えるお手製料理を御持参ください（その分参加費はかかりません）。キッチンのない寮住まいの方や「料理はちょっと。。」いう方は、デリなどでお料理を調達してくださっても結構です。お料理を持参されない場合は＄3の参加費を徴収させて頂きます。飲み物（
残念ながら？アルコール抜きですが）、お箸、フォーク、紙皿などは会で準備します。
まだ会に入会しておられない方が新年会に参加される場合は、当日その場で入会して頂きます。入会費は、個人は7ドル、家族は10ドル、法人は15ドルとなります（この場合会費有効期限は2009年4月末まで。入会についての詳細は会のホームページを御覧の上、入会申込書をご持参下さい）。その際にも、お料理をお持ちになって御
参加下さい。また、2008年4月以前に入会された会員の方々の来年
度会員費は2009年4月に徴収させていただきます。

We are going to have our annual New Year party in February. This will be an excellent opportunity to mingle with the current and new members and also a good way to start a new year.
Time: 2-5 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2009.
Venue: Eagle Heights Community Center (Building marked as 11 on the Map #2 below)

Free bus #80 schedule from the UW campus to the center:

The bus goes to Eagle Heights Drive from Lake Mendota Drive, loops along the black line on Map 2, and comes back to Lake Mendota Drive. The bus stops are marked as red triangular. The nearest bus stop to the community center is the first stop after making a half loop and getting close to the lake.
Walk to the south and you will see the center on your left.
Since this is a potluck party, please bring dish we can all share (no fee required if you do so). You are also welcome to purchase food from a restaurant or deli if you do not have a kitchen or are not comfortable with cooking. Please note that we will collect $3 fee in case you decide not to
bring any food with you. We will supply all other necessities, including drinks, chopsticks, forks, and plates.
If you are not yet a member and want to attend the new year party, please join MJA. The due is $7 for an individual, $10 for a family, and $15 for corporate membership. (Your membership will be valid through the end of April in 2009. Please refer to our website for more membership information and
bring an application with you.) Make sure to bring your
dish as well.
We will start collecting member renewal due in April '09 if you join MJA before April '08.

新生活セットアップ説明会開催のお知らせ（8/29）
セットアップ説明会のご案内
今年からマディソンに来られた方を対象に、MJAでは下記のように新生活セットアップの説明会を開催することになりました。皆様奮ってご参加ください。
◆日時：8/29 （金） 4pm
◆場所：Red Gym集合
◆内容：新生活に必要な内容についてご説明、もしくはご質問にお答えいたします。
例：インターネット、銀行口座の開設、電話（固定・携帯）、ネット、州の身分証明書・運転免許、クレジットカード、について
なお、UW credit unionにて銀行口座開設のお手伝いもします。（口座開設のためパスポートをご持参ください。）
今年からマディソンに来られた方を対象に、MJAでは下記のように新生活セットアップの説明会を開催することになりました。皆様奮ってご参加ください。

さて、早速ですが新学期が始まりますので、下記の様に新会員の歓迎会を催したいと考えております。ご友人ご家族をお誘いあわせの上皆様奮ってご参加ください。非会員の方でも参加できます！
◆概要
日時：9月14日（日）午前10時30分〜午後2時30分
場所：Hoyt park (Main Shelter, 駐車場のそば）
会場への行き方：バス8番を使用し、Franklin-Kendallで下車。
台数は限られますが駐車場も利用できます。

持ち物：お料理もしくは飲み物を一品（ポットラック形式）
費用：会員の方は無料。ただし、非会員の方は下記参照。
雨天決行（屋根がある場所です）
メニュー：料理（ポットラック形式）+バーベキュー
飲み物、お箸、フォーク、紙皿などは役員で準備します。
◆ポットラック形式について：
キッチンのない寮住まいの方や「料理はちょっと。。」いう方は、デリなどでお料理、または飲み物やお菓子などを買ってきてくださっても結構です。会場にはバーベキューグリルを用意しますので、その場で使って温かいお料理を用意して頂くことも可能です。ただし、ビン等の割れやすい容器の持込みは禁止されておりますので、ビン容器の食事・飲み物はお控えください。
また、アルコールを持ってきていただいても構いません。（小さなお子様も来られるので飲みすぎにはご注意ください。）ただし開封したアルコールを持って駐車場に入ると処罰の対象となるのでご注意ください。

We will have the BBQ even if it shines or rains, since we have a shelter.
Note that this is a *potluck* BBQ meaning that you need to bring either something to grill, such as hamburger meat or brats, or pre-cooked dish. Alternatively, you can bring catered food to share if you prefer not to cook. We will prepare grills, drinks, chopsticks, forks, and plates for you. Keep in mind that $3 will be charged if you bring no foods. City Ordinance does not allow for glass containers in the park.
Although you can bring alcohol drinks, it is illegal to bring opened alcohol to the parking lot.
Cost:
Free for members.
$3 for non-members (Used towards shelter reservation fee)
